Egypt condemns missile attacks against Jordan

Egypt strongly condemned the missile attacks targeting the sisterly Kingdom of Jordan, calling for an immediate halt to the strikes and warning against further escalation that could threaten security and stability across the region.

Egypt moves to support startup growth and expansion

Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom said Egypt has adopted a clear strategy to empower the entrepreneurship sector and support startups in expanding into foreign markets.

Rostom said the Ministerial Committee for Entrepreneurship is working to address the operational and financing challenges facing startups, while increasing their contribution to the national economy.

Bangladesh fights world’s worst measles outbreak

Bangladesh, which once came close to eliminating measles, is facing its worst outbreak on record, with 999 suspected and confirmed measles-related deaths reported since March as hospitals struggle with overcrowding, shortages and a continuing influx of sick children.

Norway bids final farewell to King Harald V

Norway is bidding its final farewell to King Harald V on Wednesday with a funeral attended by royalty and leaders from across Europe and beyond, who will pay tribute to the popular monarch’s 35-year reign.

Harald, who died on August 28 aged 89, was Europe’s oldest monarch. He had modernised the royal house, but refused to follow in the footsteps of other aging monarchs who have abdicated in recent times. His son immediately became King Haakon VIII and last week pledged an oath of allegiance to Norway’s constitution in parliament.

Tahya Misr Fund launches 4th phase of presidential school supplies initiative

In preparation for the 2026/2027 academic year, the Tahya Misr Fund launched on Wednesday the fourth phase of the presidential initiative to provide school supplies for underprivileged students, starting from Cairo. The initiative was inaugurated in the presence of Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, Fund CEO Tamer Abdel Fattah, and senior officials from the fund and the governorate.
