Egypt, 7 states condemn Israeli death penalty law against Palestinians
Foreign Ministers from Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar issued a joint statement strongly condemning Israel’s new law permitting the death penalty in the occupied West Bank, warning it entrenches apartheid practices and targets Palestinian prisoners. They expressed grave concern over reports of ongoing abuses in Israeli detention, reaffirmed opposition to discriminatory policies, and urged international accountability to prevent further escalation and safeguard regional stability.
Egyptian Armed Forces Conclude UN Peace Training Course
The Egyptian Armed Forces concluded a high-level training program titled “Train the Trainers for UN Leadership within African Peace Restoration Efforts” held at the International Organizations Liaison Department of Military Intelligence in cooperation with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Participants included representatives from African ministries of defense, interior, and foreign affairs, alongside Egyptian officers preparing for UN and AU missions.
Egypt and Uganda Strengthen Water and Cooperation
Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hani Sewilam, met with Uganda’s Minister of State for Environment, Beatrice Atim Anywar, in Cairo to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in water management. The meeting concluded with the signing of the Steering Committee minutes and the activation of a $6 million MoU on integrated water resources management, covering projects such as reservoirs, solar-powered groundwater wells, and capacity-building programs.
