Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati  held a phone call with Lebanon’s prime minister to address the serious escalation of Israeli attacks targeting multiple areas in Lebanon.

A tentative ceasefire in the Iran war staggered Thursday under the weight of Israel’s intense bombardment of Beirut, Tehran’s continued chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz, and uncertainty over whether negotiators can find common ground on a range of other differences.

The ceasefire agreement between ​the United States and ‌Iran should extend to Lebanon, EU’s ​top diplomat Kaja ​Kallas said on Thursday, ⁠adding that Iran-backed ​Lebanese group Hezbollah ​must disarm.”Israeli actions are putting the U.S.-Iran ceasefire under ​severe strain. ​The Iran truce should extend ‌to ⁠Lebanon,” Kallas said in a post on X.

‘US-Iran talks will be behind closed doors’

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said ‌talks on the Iran crisis would be held behind closed doors, and that “only one group of meaningful ‘POINTS'” were acceptable to the United States, but gave no other details about the ⁠negotiations.
