Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a telephone conversation on Sunday with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso, extending his congratulations to the president on his re-election in the March 2026 presidential elections.

Paramilitary attack kills at least 14 in Sudan

An attack by Sudanese paramilitaries and their allied rebels in the central region of Kordofan killed at least 14 people, including five children and two women, a medical group said Sunday, in the latest deadly assault of the Sudan war.

Death toll from Israel war on Lebanon exceeds 1,200

Over 1,200 people have been killed and more than 3,500 wounded since the start of this latest military escalation. Among those killed are 52 health workers.

Israel launched intense airstrikes over Lebanon after the Hezbollah group fired rockets towards northern Israel in solidarity with Iran on March 2.

3 dead in Russian attack on Ukraine’s Kramatorsk

A Russian strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of ​Kramatorsk killed three people and ‌injured 13 on Sunday, police said, one of several attacks in frontline ​areas.

Ukraine’s national police said a ​boy of 13 was among ⁠the dead.
