Minister of Religious Endowments Professor Osama Al-Azhari said Egypt and the Philippines are “one home, one nation and one family”, stressing that peace and prosperity can only be achieved when every Muslim feels responsible for his Christian brother and every Christian feels responsible for his Muslim brother.
He made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the Egyptian-Filipino Programme for Religious Leaders on Dialogue, Coexistence and Peacebuilding, held at the Grand Mosque of Egypt in the New Administrative Capital.
FM, Jordanian counterpart probe ties, regional developments
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aaty, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, affirmed the depth and distinctive nature of Egyptian-Jordanian relations and their commitment to further developing bilateral co-operation across various fields.
The two ministers also stressed the importance of continuing to advance the trilateral co-operation mechanism between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, and of translating the potential of the three countries into tangible joint projects and programmes that would strengthen economic integration and serve the common interests of their peoples.
Israeli strike kills man, his daughter in Gaza
An Israeli strike killed a man and his teenage daughter in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, health officials said.Mohamed Abu Selmia, head of Al Shifa Hospital, the enclave’s largest medical facility, said the airstrike hit a vehicle in western Gaza City, killing Youssef Akila and his daughter, Wafaa, and wounding six others.
Volcanic island in Indonesia erupts
