WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday said Cuba was asking for ‌help and “we are going to talk,” without providing any more detail.”No Republican has ever spoken to me about Cuba, which is a failed country and only heading in one direction – down! Cuba is asking ⁠for help, and we are going to talk!!! In the meantime, I’m off to China!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

BEIJING (AP) — President Donald Trump is set to leave on Tuesday for Beijing to meet with President Xi Jinping after weeks of trying, and failing, to persuade the Chinese government to use its considerable leverage to prod Iran to agree to U.S. terms to end the 2-month-old war — or, at the very least, reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

President Sisi meets his Kenyan counterpart in Nairobi

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Tuesday with Kenyan President William Ruto on the sidelines of the Africa–France Summit in Nairobi.President Sisi thanked Ruto for the warm welcome and highlighted Egypt’s pride in its historic ties with Kenya. He expressed eagerness to activate the joint presidential declaration signed in January 2025 to elevate relations to a “comprehensive strategic partnership,” boosting economic integration and shared benefits from both countries’ resources and strategic positions. 

President Sisi discusses economic reform with IMF Chief

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Tuesday with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, during the Africa–France Summit in Nairobi.President Sisi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the IMF’s support in implementing its economic reform program.
