Iraq’s PM in Türkiye for pipeline, security talks

Iraq’s new prime minister, Ali Al-Zaidi, arrived in Turkiye on Tuesday for talks that are expected to include the construction of a pipeline to Turkiye aimed at reducing the exposure of Iraq’s oil exports to tensions in the Gulf region. It is Al-Zaidi’s third visit abroad since taking office.

S. Korea orders evacuations after phosphorus leak at US base

South Korean authorities on Tuesday briefly ordered civilians to evacuate after what they described as a white phosphorus leak at a US military base near the capital, Seoul.

Gov’t reviews proposals for national talent programme

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired on Tuesday a meeting in New Alamein to discuss proposals for the national programme to discover and nurture talented individuals, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The initiative aims to build generations capable of competing and excelling across diverse fields, from science and medicine to arts and sports.

Egypt, Apache strengthen Western Desert oil, gas partnership

Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi held extensive talks on Tuesday with John J. Christmann, CEO of Apache Corporation, and senior company executives to review exploration and production plans in Egypt’s Western Desert. The meeting focused on accelerating drilling programmes, boosting gas output and expanding seismic surveys to identify new reserves.

Egypt boosts aviation ties at AFI Week

Civil Aviation Minister Samah El-Hefny met ICAO Secretary-General Juan Carlos Salazar on the sidelines of Africa and Indian Ocean Aviation Week in Cairo to discuss Africa’s civil aviation roadmap and preparations for ICAO’s 7th Worldwide Air Transport Conference and extraordinary General Assembly in Montreal this November. The talks focused on capacity building, policy coordination and supporting ICAO programmes across Africa.

Egypt’s Military Academy hosts 6th Int’l Telecom Conference

The Egyptian Military Academy organised on Tuesday the sixth International Telecommunications Conference (ITC-EGYPT 2026), reflecting the state’s commitment to advancing scientific research, innovation and human development in line with the vision of the “New Republic.” The event brought together ministers, armed forces leaders, academics and public figures.
