A major interactive exhibition dedicated to the treasures of King Tutankhamun opened in the French capital Paris on Friday, highlighting what officials described as the enduring cultural ties between France and Egypt.
The exhibition, titled “Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures,” welcomed visitors at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition centre, featuring virtual reality displays alongside hundreds of meticulously crafted replicas from the boy king’s famous burial chamber, MENA reported
Egyptian Ambassador to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, Tarek Dahroug, attended the opening ceremony, emphasising the universal appeal of his country’s history.
“Ancient Egyptian civilisation continues to be a source of inspiration for the world,” Dahroug said in an opening address, adding that the event serves as an important bridge to “strengthen the closeness between the Egyptian and French peoples.”
The new interactive exhibition aims to offer visitors an immersive journey into the pharaonic era by recreating the exact layout of the tomb discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922.
