Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB), has been participating in the international tourism exhibition IFTM Top Resa in Paris 3-5 October.

The IFTM Top Resa exhibition is one of the largest annual professional tourism and travel events bringing together 29,000 tourism professionals, 170 destinations and 1400 brands.

Egyptian Ambassador to France Alaa Youssef and CEO of ETPB Amr el-Kady opened the 124-square-metre Egyptian pavilion, which includes two hotels, 9 tourism companies and two airlines.

El-Kady said that this show is considered the most important professional exhibition held in the French market and one of the most important tourism exhibitions in Europe.

“It is a good opportunity to meet officials, decision-makers, tour organisers, and representatives and officials of tourism and aviation companies to promote the Egyptian tourist destination and the various tourism components it enjoys,” he added.

He held a number of meetings with tour operators and officials of tourism companies operating in the French market to discuss ways to enhance co-operation to attract more incoming tourist traffic from the French market. He also reviewed indicators of incoming tourist traffic from the French market to Egypt.

El-Kady reviewed the tourism products that the Egyptian tourist destination has, the tourist and archaeological sites it boasts, and the tourist activities that can be practised during its visit were also reviewed, which makes the tourist’s experience richer and more enjoyable.

The French newspaper Les Echos published a report on April 12 saying Egyptian tourism recorded a historic number, as the number of tourists rose by 40 per cent during 2023 compared to last year.

The newspaper explained in its report that Egypt is one of the most favoured destinations for the French.

Paris hosted ‘Ramses and the Gold of The Pharaohs’ from April to September. It drew 800,000 visitors who came to see the 182 objects from the Kingdom of Pharaoh Ramses II.
