Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, announced recently the beginning of the activities of the Egyptian-Serbian Week in Sharm El-Sheikh.
This came during a joint press conference, which was held in the attendance of Dragna Siterovsky, Mayor of the Serbian city of Nis, and Miroslav Lazansky, the Serbian ambassador in Egypt, following the official signing of the protocol of co-operation and fraternity between the two cities of Sharm El Sheikh and Nis.
The protocol signing was attended by a high-level Serbian delegation consisting of 27 public figures, tourism companies, the head of Serbia’s airports, the Mufti of Belgrade, a delegation from the church in Niš, as well as a large group of journalists, media professionals and Serbian TV channels.
This visit came in response to the visit made by the Governor of South Sinai at the head of an Egyptian delegation to Serbia three months ago, in the light of the Egyptian week that was held there, which included many official meetings with government officials and Serbian tourism and airline companies.
Fouda stressed during the conference in Sharm El Sheikh that Egyptian-Serbian relations will witness a great leap during the next stage in all fields.
And that is through the resumption of the joint economic committees between the two countries, noting that he discussed with Serbian officials the regularity of tourist trips from their country to Sharm el-Sheikh, promoting trade exchange, supporting cultural exchange and co-operation in the educational, health and industrial fields.
For her part, Dragna Setirovsky, Mayor of the Serbian city of Nis, expressed her happiness and great appreciation for concluding the twinning and fraternising agreement with the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, and expressed her feeling of great optimism about the expected results from it in the short and long term.
“We are proud of what we have done by concluding this agreement, which represents a great support for our foreign policy and provides great opportunities for integration and co-operation between the two countries in all fields,” Setirovsky added.
She stressed that “We have the mechanisms and the ability to take the terms of the agreement out of the theoretical framework to efficiently implement it on the ground,” Setirovsky stressed.
