TikTok has officially launched its dedicated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) feed in Egypt, in strategic partnership with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). This initiative underscores TikTok’s ongoing commitment to education, innovation, and social impact across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The new STEM feed provides TikTok users in Egypt with direct access to reliable, high-quality educational content focused on STEM disciplines. Designed to blend interactive learning with entertainment, the feed aims to inspire curiosity and creativity among young users. It will be automatically enabled for users aged 13 to 18, while those over 18 can activate the feature through the app’s content preferences by selecting “STEM Feed On.”

Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of AASTMT, emphasized the significance of this collaboration during recent meetings with TikTok’s Public Policy and Government Relations team. He highlighted the role of this initiative in engaging youth in key areas of science and technology, aligning with Egypt’s national priorities in innovation and sustainable development.

“Egypt continues to prioritize youth empowerment through technology and innovation, encouraging young individuals to pursue careers that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and the nation’s economic advancement,” Dr. Abdel Ghaffar stated. “AASTMT was among the first academic institutions in the region to embrace digital tools and social platforms as a means to enrich education and broaden knowledge for the next generation.”

Kinda Ibrahim, Regional General Manager of Operations and Marketing at TikTok for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Pakistan, and South Asia, echoed this sentiment. “Our partnership with AASTMT reflects TikTok’s broader vision to enhance educational opportunities through strategic collaborations across the region. With nearly 10 million STEM-related videos published globally over the past three years, there is a clear and growing appetite for educational content. We’re excited to bring this dedicated STEM feed to Egypt and help empower young minds to explore the limitless possibilities within these fields.”

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar concluded, “We are proud to join forces with TikTok on this impactful initiative, which delivers engaging and accessible STEM content to youth across Egypt. It aligns perfectly with the country’s long-term focus on equipping young people with the skills and inspiration necessary to lead in the fields of science, technology, and engineering.”
