Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez have married in a civil ceremony in the coastal town of Cascais, the couple said.
The ceremony was held privately on Monday, a year after the couple announced their engagement, and was attended by their five children, according to a representative for Ronaldo.
“Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife,” the representative said.
Ronaldo, 41, confirmed the news on Instagram by posting a photograph of the couple’s wedding rings, captioned “C❤️G.”
The couple, who have been together for 10 years, held the ceremony in the upmarket town about 30 kilometres (19 miles) west of Lisbon.
