From Berlin – Mohamed el-Sayem
We are proud of our fourth pyramid, the Egyptian branch of the German University, which offers the sciences at an outstanding level, the Egyptian ambassador said on Wednesday.
Egypt’s Ambassador to Germany Khaled Galal Abdel Hamid went on to say that these Egyptian branches qualify students scientifically, culturally and practically, which affects both Egypt and Germany.
These statements came during a meeting at the German University in Berlin, in the presence of Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees Dr Ashraf Mansour on the 10th anniversary of the branch’s founding in Berlin and 20 years since the establishment of the German University in Cairo.
Egyptian-German relations are still at the same momentum after the pandemic, the envoy said, adding that Germany supplied Egypt 7 million doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine.
Conditions during the pandemic were an opportunity to enhance co-operation between the two sides, the envoy said.
The presence of the German University in Berlin is worthy of respect and admiration, he said, pointing out the paramount importance of the role of students in enriching co-operation between the peoples of both countries.
“The impact will be great and positive in the future,” he said.
“The biggest challenge and the real benefit are when they return to Egypt and build bridges of co-operation with the German side in various activities,” he added.
