Bathed in the warm glow of the Nile River, the Hanan Youssef Cultural Salon reached a momentous milestone – its 50th session.
Held under the auspices of the Arab Organisation for Dialogue and International Co-operation, this golden anniversary was celebrated with a special session titled “2024…the Year of Vision: Paths and Prospects towards Enlightenment.”
The event drew a distinguished crowd of members, encompassing intellectuals, academics, and esteemed specialists.
Dr Hanan Youssef, the salon’s founder and president expressed her profound joy at reaching this golden milestone. “The salon’s journey has been truly one of brilliance,” she declared, reflecting on the past fifty sessions.
Dr Youssef acknowledged the salon’s unwavering spirit in the face of challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Our persistence stems from a shared belief in the vital role of Arab intellectuals in fostering enlightenment and awareness, thereby empowering the Arab individual,” she said.
“Over the years, the salon has welcomed renowned thinkers from Egypt and beyond, while actively engaging young minds, this confluence of wisdom and fresh perspectives has fueled the salon’s ascent to its golden jubilee.”
The “2024…the Year of Vision” session served as a fitting platform to contemplate the future. As the Arab world navigates a pivotal year, the salon’s golden jubilee resonates with a call for collective vision and proactive steps towards a brighter tomorrow.
