Magdi Yacoub Foundation, Ricrac partner to expand free cardiac care

The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (MYHF) recently partnered with Ricrac, a pioneering Egyptian brand specializing in premium home essentials, to bolster free cardiac healthcare services during the holy month of Ramadan. This charitable initiative generated significant donations through the sale of two limited-edition Ricrac prayer mats, with 100% of the proceeds dedicated to advancing the Foundation’s mission.

Reflecting a shared commitment to purposeful giving, the initiative transformed a symbolic Ramadan item into a meaningful platform for positive impact. The collaboration achieved notable success, with 500 prayer mats sold. All proceeds directly support expanded access to life-saving cardiac care for children while strengthening the Foundation’s specialized medical, training, and research programs.

The partnership highlights the growing role of corporate social responsibility in supporting impactful healthcare initiatives. It further demonstrates how strategic alliances between the private sector and charitable organizations can drive meaningful change. By linking everyday purchases with a humanitarian cause, the initiative encouraged individuals to contribute to a life-saving mission while embracing the spirit of generosity that defines the holy month.

Notably, the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation is currently preparing to open the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in Cairo, significantly expanding its humanitarian reach. Designed to operate at three times the capacity of the original Aswan Heart Centre, the new facility will treat up to 12,000 patients annually and serve 120,000 outpatients. The centre will feature 300 inpatient beds, 10 fully equipped operating rooms and cardiac catheterization labs, and 35 outpatient clinics. This expansion reinforces a world-class, free-of-charge model of cardiac care that continues to set a global benchmark for excellence.
