Egypt reported a 55 per cent drop in coronavirus infections and a 37 per cent decrease in related deaths, said Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
The hospital occupancy rates at the level of the governorates showed a sharp decline in the number of patients who receive Covid-19 treatment, added Abdel Ghaffar during a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday, under Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, to review the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus in Egypt and the world.
The minister, meanwhile, said 50 million Egyptians are included in the country’s vaccination target, adding that 100 per cent of the number received the first dose of the vaccine and 78.41 per cent received the second dose.
The third dose, booster shots, targeted 25 million citizens, Abdel Ghaffar said, adding that about 25 million of the number received their vaccination, representing 32.3 per cent of the total number.
