Vodafone Egypt Foundation for Community Development will fully fund the equipment for Baheya Hospital’s first in-house blood bank in Sheikh Zayed, to ensure timely blood supplies for women undergoing cancer treatment.
The initiative, launched during Breast Cancer Awareness Month under the slogan “Because Every Minute with Her Matters”, also aims to strengthen the hospital’s medical infrastructure.
The blood bank will reduce Baheya’s reliance on external suppliers and help overcome delays and shortages linked to blood-type availability and transportation. Its storage and compatibility-testing facilities will enable faster access to blood units and improve the hospital’s readiness to meet patients’ needs.
Separately, Vodafone Cash is launching a Breast Cancer Awareness Month donation campaign to support Baheya, reduce waiting lists and expand healthcare access for women. Donations collected through Vodafone Cash will go directly towards supporting the hospital’s efforts.
As part of its awareness-month activities, Vodafone is also partnering with Baheya to offer its employees free early breast cancer screening, reflecting the company’s commitment to their health and wellbeing.
The foundation continues to support healthcare initiatives through partnerships aimed at strengthening medical facilities and improving timely access to care.
