The United States has returned 48 ancient Egyptian artefacts to Egypt, in a handover ceremony attended by Egypt’s consul general in Los Angeles, Hossam El-Din Ali.
The artefacts were handed over by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as part of ongoing Egyptian-US co-operation to recover smuggled antiquities and preserve Egypt’s cultural heritage, MENA reported.
Ali expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the return of the rare pieces and praised cooperation between the two countries, particularly in efforts to recover Egyptian antiquities abroad.
