Belgian Ambassador to Egypt Bart De Groof and Egypt’s Ambassador to Belgium Ahmed Abu Zeid exchanged their national football team jerseys ahead of the Egypt-Belgium match scheduled for June 15 as part of the FIFA World Cup competition.
The Belgian Embassy in Cairo posted a photograph on its social media accounts on Tuesday showing the two ambassadors exchanging jerseys.
The embassy said the soccer field will host a match between “two great teams” on June 15, MENA reported.
“As a reflection of the spirit of friendship and mutual respect between our two countries, our ambassadors exchanged the national team jerseys in a special gesture ahead of the anticipated match,” the embassy added.
