BONN/BERLIN – Egyptian Ambassador to Germany Khaled Galal asserted on Thursday that education has become the core of the Egyptian-German co-operation, adding that bilateral partnership is based on technology especially in light of Egypt’s efforts to turn from traditional economy to technology-based one.
Galal made the remarks during a ceremony held on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the German University in Cairo (GUC) which was held at the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Bonn.
The event was attended by GUC President Ashraf Mansour and representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs and higher education in Germany in addition to a number of parliamentary and academic figures.
Galal said Egypt pays great attention to human cadres and is keen to rehabilitate them to cope with the latest developments to be able to face all challenges in the different domains.
Meanwhile, Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for cultural affairs Omar Selim said that the GUC had many stories of success as it succeeded in preparing students to labor market.
He added that education is a main tool for putting into effect Egypt Vision 2030, stressing that setting up new universities are necessary to meet social and economic development requirements.
