UAE-based Somali artist Freek charts the highs and lows of his career on his latest single

UAE trap star Freek is bringing his own summer heat to the trap world with his latest single ‘Mia Mia.’

With a heavy Middle Eastern attitude thanks to the backing track and vocals that slip easily between English and Arabic, it’s a sure-fire summer slam.

The track thrillingly sums up Freek’s career to date, taking in the “highs and lows of my journey and where I was raised and the environment that shaped the person I am today” says Freek.

Unsurprisingly, the track has been picked up for a collaboration with Sneaker District in Abu Dhabi.

After being approached by Sneaker District, Freek and his team came up with the story and scenes before shooting the video in Abu Dhabi. Freek then put on a pair of Nike sneakers and shot the amazing video to ‘Mia Mia.’

And it’s not just Sneaker District who fell in love with the track, as the music was used in a recent ‘Fire In The Booth’ episode with hip hop kingpin Charlie Sloth.

About Freek

Freek, is a Somalian MC, rapper, Director and record producer from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He is regarded as a key figure in the conception of Arabic drill rap music and often labelled the “Godfather” of the genre.

Freek is considered a pioneer in the GCC underground music scene with a prolific work rate and a discography of catchy hits such as ‘Wala Kilmaʼ, ‘Aslan ‘adi”, “Shwaya” and “Mush Fadi” which propelled him in the international music scene. He has been nominated to compose a feature song in the recent Adidas marketing campaign on March 2019 for non-other than Europe’s top forward player, Mohammed Salah.

He’s been playing on the big stages around the UAE and has been considered one of the biggest artists in the country, with major following from the local, regional and international scene.

Freek opened for The Future, Gucci Mayne, Wu-Tang Clan and has finished his UK tour in December 2019 with a sold-out show in London.

Following this success, Freek composed the official track for Qasimi SS21 collection and is currently in the process of releasing his debut album “150”.
