The Cultural Development Fund headed by Fathi Abdel Wahab in co-operation with the Hewar Foundation for the Arts of People’s Cultures headed by the creative director Entessar Abdel Fattah, organised a big international celebration under the title “The Soul Pathway” this week at Al-Ghouri Dome to celebrate the Islamic New Year.
A number of troupes performed during the event including Samaa Ensemble for Chanting and Spiritual Music, the Mawlawi Sufi Dance Ensemble and the Girls of Al-Hoor Troupe.
Director Entessar Abdel Fattah is currently preparing for the 15th edition of the International Samaa’ Festival for Spiritual music & Chanting which will kick off in September and will feature a number of international troupes that will perform Sufi chanting and dances.
