Celebrated Egyptian singer Hani Shaker, widely known as the “Prince of Arabic Singing,” has died at the age of 74 in Paris after weeks of treatment for severe health complications, his family said Sunday.
Shaker had travelled to the French capital several weeks ago to receive medical care following a sharp deterioration in his condition.
He was admitted to hospital after suffering heavy bleeding caused by a long‑standing colon problem involving diverticula, which had led to recurrent inflammation and repeated hemorrhaging.
