President of Vietnam, Luong Cuong, and his accompanying delegation visited the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and the Giza Pyramids during his official visit to Egypt.
At the GEM, the president explored the Grand Hall, the Grand Staircase, and the Main Galleries, where he learned about the museum’s exceptional collection, including the treasures of the boy-king Tutankhamun, which will be fully displayed at the museum’s official opening in November.
Impressed by the museum’s architectural design and rich displays, President Cuong presented a bronze replica of the traditional Vietnamese “Ngoc Lu drum,” an important cultural symbol of Vietnam.
The Vietnamese delegation also toured the Giza Pyramids, starting with the Great Pyramid of Khufu — the only surviving wonder of the ancient world. They learned about the engineering and artistic mastery of ancient Egyptian builders before visiting the Sphinx, where they explored the monument’s history and the famed “Dream Stele.” The visit concluded with panoramic views of the pyramids of Khafre, Menkaure, and the Queen’s Pyramids, where the guests took commemorative photographs.
