Chairman and Managing Director Major General Amr Abdel Wahab on Monday reviewed the latest developments of the “Your Farm in Egypt” initiative and investment opportunities available in the New Egyptian Countryside during the main plenary session on the first day of the seventh Egyptians Abroad Conference in Cairo.
Held under the theme “No Matter How Far We Are… Egypt Brings Us Closer”, the conference brought together Egyptian officials and citizens living abroad.
The initiative, launched in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, has become a successful model for enabling Egyptians abroad to invest in the national 1.5 million-feddan land reclamation and development project, Abdel Wahab said.
He noted that the company received 4,500 applications within just three days of opening the first phase, with contracts currently being finalised for 147 beneficiaries covering all 7,600 feddans offered. Preparations are also under way to offer additional land during the initiative’ssecond phase.
Abdel Wahab affirmed that the company is implementing the political leadership’s directives to boost the participation of Egyptians abroad in national development projects, describing their investments as a contribution to sustainable development and food security rather than merely an economic opportunity.
He also announced that the company is developing a comprehensive digital platform that will enable Egyptians abroad to access investment opportunities remotely, submit applications, complete contracting and payment procedures, receive technical support and track all services related to the initiative.
Coordination with Banque Misr is also under way to introduce more flexible banking and payment solutions, he added.
Abdel Wahab reaffirmed the company’s commitment to upgrading infrastructure and services across the New Egyptian Countryside, and invited Egyptians abroad to take advantage of the initiative’s investment opportunities.
He stressed that the project offers Egyptians abroad a genuine partnership in building the New Republic and supporting Egypt’s agricultural development and food security.
