Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Meselhi on Wednesday announced that Ahlan Ramadan (Welcome Ramadan) outlets will be operating as of 1 January.
Ahlan Ramadan will be selling goods at affordable prices until the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, which will begin on 22 March, the minister said.
Meselhi added that his ministry is coordination with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the General Federation of Commercial Chambers to establish a joint central operation room to monitor supplies at all outlets nationwide, the minister said, adding that the government would offer all possible support to increase warehouse space in co-operation with relevant authorities working on the establishment of outlets.
The minister stressed the importance of coordinating with all governorates to provide places for setting up the outlets and stores.
