The ministries of planning and immigration Thursday launched a new website to connect Egyptians returning from other countries with training and career opportunities here.
The new website comes in the context of presidential directives to helping Egyptians who have been made redundant or laid off abroad because of the Covid-19 pandemic to find jobs in their country, the ministries said in a statement.
The website comes within an initiative to reintegrate returning Egyptian professionals in the national economy, the statement added.
Minister of Immigration and Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram said the initiative began with the registration of Egyptian nationals returning abroad during the emergence of the Covid-19 crisis.
Returning nationals were offered jobs and training in their governorates of residence in cooperation with other state agencies, Makram said.
Another phase in the initiative started with online registration by returnees, Makram added, noting that her ministry cooperated with the local business community to find jobs for those returning from abroad and integrate them in national development plans.
The website will compile a database for returning workers, including their specialisations and the jobs they want to do here, plus information financing startups, the ministries said.
