The Cabinet’s Media Centre on Thursday highlighted WE Applied Technology Schools as Egypt’s first smart public schools specialised in communications and information technology.
Launched in 2020, the initiative now includes 27 schools across all governorates, offering five technological specialisations: communications, software and web development, networks and cybersecurity, digital arts, and artificial intelligence with data analysis.
The schools adopt a blended model of 60 per cent practical training and 40 per cent theoretical study, with students receiving internationally accredited certificates, diverse academic and career pathways, and hands-on training in advanced labs and workshops.
Graduates can pursue technological universities, engineering faculties, or computer science and AI colleges, subject to performance and entrance requirements.
The program aims to modernise technical education, align outputs with labor market needs, and prepare a generation equipped with digital and technological skills to compete locally and internationally.
Admission requires Egyptian nationality, completion of preparatory education, meeting the minimum grade threshold, being under 18 at the start of the academic year, medical fitness, English proficiency, and passing aptitude and personal interviews.
