Political Economy Professor and Former Advisor to the World Bank (WB) Amr Saleh underscored the importance of the urgent soical protection package that was ordered by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as of next month.
The president instructed the government to implement the package in order to scale up the international ranking of Egypt and promote social empowerment to low-income brackets.
Saleh told MENA on Thursday that the social protection package includes decisions to employ several segments in order to raise the living standards and reduce unemployment rates.
Such a package also paid a greater interest to societal dimensions including raising salaries and Egypt’s rank in international reports about social and economic performance of the Egyptian state, he said.
The new package is very important despite hard international economic circumstances that were reflected on several countries and took their toll on low-income brackets, according to him.
