CAIRO – The US Embassy in Cairo voiced excitement over the long awaited Pharaohs Royal Parade to transfer 22 pharaonic mummies from the Grand Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat today.
The embassy wrote on its official page on Facebook: ‘We’re also proud to have sponsored the restoration in 2019 of the temple chapel of King Seti I, one of the royal pharaonic mummies in the parade. This work at Abydos is part of the more than dlrs 102 million investment by the US government to preserve and protect over 85 cultural heritage sites throughout Egypt.
