Egyptian Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said Monday that Egypt is keen on increasing foreign investments including the South Korean investments via working on attracting more Korean investments.
The upcoming visit of the South Korean president to Egypt in January reflects the developing relations in the different domains, Maait said.
This came in Maait’s meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Egypt Hong Jin-wook.
Maait said that Egypt is looking forward to more co-operation and encouraging the flow of South Korean investments in Egypt to open new investment horizons between both countries and focusing on the developmental and technological sectors.
Egypt is working on improving the business atmosphere, developing the infrastructure and mechanising the financial measures and services in the different investment domains, Maait said.
The government is keen on attracting more investments for providing more job opportunities and better quality of life for the Egyptians and improving their living conditions, he added.
Meanwhile, Jin-wook asserted that the Korean business community notices tangible improvements in the investment atmosphere in Egypt including the unprecedented development in the taxes and customs systems.
South Korea decided that Egypt will be its strategic partner at the level of Africa within the coming years, he said.
He said that his country is looking forward to boosting means of cooperation with the Egyptian government in the different fields.
