Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Management of Medical Technology (UPA) Bahaa-Eddin Zidan said the second “Africa Health ExCon”, the biggest medical exhibition and conference in the continent, represents a platform for healthcare experts from various parts of the world to exchange expertise and engage in deals.
He made the remarks on Tuesday while addressing the exhibition which was attended by the President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Zidan said the president’s patronage of the first African conference had a great impact in promoting co-operation between Egypt and the African countries in the medical domain.
He noted that the president’s sponsorship of the second conference sends a message about Egypt’s keenness on co-operating for implementing the Africa Vision 2063 in the medical domain.
He referred to the UPA’s achievements and how far it is committed to implementing directives of President Sisi, especially on digitising purchase and supply operations, establishing unified e-mechanism, sustainability of supply chains and localising industry.
He referred to establishing six warehouses for storing medicine under international standards.
