CAIRO – United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova expressed her pride in seeing Egypt play host to the World Cities Day 2024 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
In a statement, Panova pointed out that everyone has come to recognize the need for sustainable urban development, as well as “the importance of role of youth in shaping a brighter future for our cities and the planet in general”.
World Cities Day 2024, themed “Youth leading climate and local action for cities,” emphasizes young people’s advocacy for bold actions to tackle the climate crisis and the importance of turning ambitious ideas into tangible achievements.
