British Minister for Middle East and North Africa Affairs Stephen Doney praised Egypt’s pivotal humanitarian role in supporting Palestinians in Gaza, highlighting Cairo’s efforts to ease civilian suffering and secure safe corridors for aid delivery.
During his visit to North Sinai on 19 August, Doney inspected the Egyptian Red Crescent’s logistics warehouses in Al‑Arish, where relief supplies bound for Gaza are received and prepared.
North Sinai Governor Khaled Maghawer briefed the minister on mechanisms for receiving, sorting and storing humanitarian aid, stressing that the governorate has become a central hub for humanitarian support to Gaza. He underlined Egypt’s ongoing commitment to assisting Palestinians, rooted in its historic responsibility towards regional humanitarian causes.
This visit underscores Egypt’s role in regional humanitarian diplomacy, supporting Palestinian civilians, and strengthening international cooperation.
