Egypt’s Minister of Transport Kamel el-Wazir witnesses Wednesday the signing of a number of agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the 5th edition of the Smart Transport, Logistics, Infrastructure and Traffic Fair and Forum for the Middle East and Africa Region (TransMEA 2023).
A statement issued by the Ministry of Transport Wednesday said the agreements included cooperation protocols in the field of revamping ports, with a view to maximizing cooperation among African countries, including Mauritania, in the maritime transport domain.
The minister of transport said the signing of the agreements came in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani during their meeting in Cairo, in June 2023 as the two sides accentuated the importance of boosting cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, ports overhaul and fish wealth domains.
Meantime, Wazir witnessed the signing of and agreement between the Holding company For Maritime and Land Transport and Missouri State University on designing and implementing an advanced executive leadership skills upgrade program, with a view to honing cadres skills and promoting team work capabilities in the land and maritime fields.
