Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir witnessed Tuesday the inking of a contract to establish a workshop for the maintenance of all kinds of Russian locomotives in Egypt at Abu Zaabal workshops for railways between the Egyptian National Railways and Transmashholding International AG.
Wazir asserted that the contract aims at establishing a new workshop in Abu Zaabal workshops area in co-operation with Transmashholding which will prepare the designs of the workshop and will supply the equipment needed for it.
He asserted the importance of this contract to conduct the necessary maintenance for the deal of 1,350 locomotives that was inked by the Egyptian National Railways.
The company’s maintenance of the locomotives will contribute to presenting the highest levels of service to the passengers within the framework of the plan of the ministry to co-operate with international companies supplying the locomotives.
