Egypt’s Transport Minister Kamel el-Wazir confirmed that cooperation with leading German multinational technology conglomerate Siemens is a clear embodiment attesting to Egyptian-German friendship.

During a meeting Thursday with Siemens Mobility CEO Michael Peter, to discuss work implementation at the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, the minister reviewed work progress at the various sectors of the project, including the train bridge works, stations, and industrial works covering track bridges, car bridges and creeks.

All work runs in parallel with periodic and continued supervision of technical expert Systra International, the project consultant in charge of all stages of implementation of the vital venture.

The meeting also reviewed work at the track sectors that have been delivered to the Siemens alliance, in addition to work at tracks that are still in progress.

The minister praised Siemens, which uses the latest up-to date technological advances to manufacture high-speed electric trains in the world.

According to Wazir, all work is being carried out in line with the planned schedule and in accordance with trains’ designs and operational speeds that have been agreed upon.

Siemens Mobility is a leading provider of sustainable and efficient transport solutions.
