Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji on Wednesday reiterated the remarkable momentum that Egyptian-Chinese relations have gained across all fronts.

This has been reflected in major co-operation projects and programmes between the two nations, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.

The two sides highly valued the distinguished relations between the parliaments in both countries, embodied in the formation of the Egyptian-Chinese Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The meeting addressed means to bolster bilateral co-operation at various political and economic levels, in a manner likely to enhance the exchange of development expertise between Cairo and Beijing.

President Sisi and the Chief of the NPC Standing Committee commended the efforts exerted by the Chinese companies in support of the national projects in Egypt.

They also reiterated the importance of boosting these efforts, particularly in fields of technology and capacity building, as well as in telecommunications, infrastructure, and energy, Spokesman Fahmy added.

The Chinese top legislator stressed that his country’s holds in high esteem its historical relations with Egypt. He also emphasised China’s keenness to consolidate this co-operation to be commensurate with the status of the two countries being among the world’s most ancient civilizations.

Zhao Leji highly valued Egypt’s pivotal role at the regional and international levels, particularly Cairo’s efforts to advance peace and stability in the Middle East region, as well as its steady progress in achieving national development.
