As part of efforts to strengthen international co‑operation in vaccine manufacturing and technology transfer Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Ali El‑Ghamrawy, visited Sinovac during his trip to China to explore opportunities for partnership in vaccine production, technology localisation and expertise exchange.
The visit included presentations on Sinovac’s activities and experience in vaccine development and manufacturing, followed by a tour of the company’s production facilities. El‑Ghamrawy and the accompanying delegation reviewed manufacturing processes, production capabilities and the latest technologies used in vaccine production.
El‑Ghamrawy stressed the importance of strengthening co‑operation with leading global vaccine manufacturers and benefiting from advanced technologies and expertise to support technology transfer, build national capabilities and enhance pharmaceutical manufacturing in Egypt.
Discussions also addressed opportunities to localise vaccine manufacturing technologies in Egypt, supporting domestic production capacities, boosting the competitiveness of the Egyptian pharmaceutical industry and opening new avenues for co‑operation with regional and international markets, particularly in Africa.
The visit comes as part of the EDA’s efforts to promote international partnerships, localise pharmaceutical technologies, strengthen manufacturing capacities and enhance national drug security.
