The Tahya Misr Fund has launched the second and third phases of its presidential initiative to provide school supplies to students from the most vulnerable families, expanding the programme to six Upper Egypt governorates.
The initiative is part of a nationwide drive to reach eligible students and families.
The second phase was launched in Fayoum Governorate in the presence of Fayoum Governor Mohamed Hany Ghoneim. It covers Fayoum, Minya and Assiut, providing students with complete school bags containing essential supplies and stationery, as well as new clothes and shoes.
The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on families and ensure that their children have the basic necessities for the new academic year.
The third phase was launched in Luxor in the presence of Governor Abdel Motaleb Emara. It covers Luxor, Qena, Aswan and Sohag, continuing the fund’s efforts to expand its social support programmes across Upper Egypt and reach the most vulnerable groups.
Executive Director of the Tahya Misr Fund Tamer Abdel Fattah said the launch of the two phases forms part of the fund’s plan to extend the initiative to all governorates.
He stressed that the initiative seeks to provide essential school supplies for vulnerable students, helping their families prepare for the new academic year while reducing their financial burdens.
Abdel Fattah congratulated students and their families ahead of the new academic year, wishing them success and achievement. He stressed that Egypt’s students are a key pillar in building the country’s future.
Investing in people, expanding access to education and equipping younger generations with knowledge and skills are among the key priorities of building the New Republic, he added.
The initiative also provides manual and electric wheelchairs for children with disabilities, according to the needs of each case. The support is intended to facilitate their mobility, enhance their independence in daily life and promote their integration and participation in society.
Abdel Fattah said the fund had relied on updated 2026 databases to identify beneficiaries and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.
The initiative is part of the fund’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the social protection system by providing various forms of support through organised mechanisms that ensure efficient implementation and accurate beneficiary selection.
The fund will continue rolling out further phases of the initiative across Egypt in co-operation with relevant authorities and civil society organisations.
The Tahya Misr Fund continues to implement social programmes and initiatives across Egypt, supporting state efforts to promote social protection and improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups.
