Sisi to Egyptians: “Rest assured… We are in control”
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that state in Egypt and the Egyptian people, together, are capable of defeating all challenges.
“Rest assured… we are in control,” said President Sisi, reassuring Egyptians that “every crisis will eventually pass,” thanks to the people’s solidarity with the state.
Referring to the series of global crises ongoing for three years, President Sisi assured Egyptians that they can have confidence in the country’s ability to navigate through the current challenges.
He pointed to the hard work to overcome the repercussions of the crisis which hit the country, which started with the pandemic. He also referred to the Russia-Ukraine crisis and the ensued soaring prices.
In addition, Egypt’s population rose by six million over the past three years. Moreover, over the past seven weeks, up to 220,000 Sudanese came into the country fleeing the war at home.
The president made these remarks during his visit to Abadiyya village, Beheira governorate, to inaugurate several projects under the Decent Life initiative for the development of rural Egypt.
“We [the state] have been working to mitigate the repercussions of global crises,” El-Sisi said.
Also during the tour, President Sisi inspected a nursing home, a health unit, two centres for technological and an agricultural services.
At the Al-Abadiya seniors’ home, President Sisi was keen to inquire about residents’ conditions and if all their needs were provided.
President Sisi then inspected Al-Abadiya Technological Services Complex where he thanked the staff for their efforts to help citizens. The president was briefed on scores of various services offered by the complex.
One staff member explained that mechanisation has significantly streamlines all services.
Inspecting Al-Abadiya Health Unit, President Sisi commended the staff efforts, and was offered a detailed account from the facility director on the various medical and healthcare services offered to the village people.
The unit offer family doctor services and include various specialisations, such as internal medicine and pediatrics, in addition to radiology sections and laboratories, and two clinics for the elderly and people of determination.
In reply to a question, President Sisi was told that up to 6,000 families were registered as beneficiaries at the unit, which also has a pharmacy with all medications available. The unit director noted that the facility will be the first in Beheira were the Universal Health Insurance System will be applied.
President Sisi also inspected work at Al-Abadiya Agricultural Services Complex.
During the tour at the Decent Life projects, President Sisi appreciated the efforts of the volunteers in presidential initiative to better people’s life.
