Dozens of Egyptian startups showcased their ideas at the World Youth Forum (WYF) as part of the Startup Vein venue, which is a platform where entrepreneurs can share their experiences, the challenges they faced and their achievements with young people.

Mohamed Taysir, CEO of Singularity Finance, said the WYF is a great opportunity for them to tell young people from across the world about his startup.

“Also, I would like to open up collaboration opportunities where we will be able to meet with different people from different regions of the world,” he told The Egyptian Gazette.

Singularity Finance is a new fintech company that leverages new technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence to create a formal financial ecosystem.

The company is launching several products, which include Singularity Software POS, which enables payment by mobile phone rather than hardware terminals at supermarkets and filling stations.

Another of their products is Dabarhali, a business-to-business marketplace connecting suppliers with traders and financing parties. Customers can order their business requirements and apply for funding as well.

“It is not only about finding the right products for us but also about finding a competitive price with the option to apply for alternative financing whether it is from a micro-finance institution or a bank,” Tayseer said.

Singularity Finance is working with multiple banks and microfinance institutions in Egypt so that they become part of their partners and help them create their targeted financial ecosystem.

The startup is also planning to launch its beta version in March.

Another startup was EGRobots which is an affordable data-driven agriculture platform that uses robots to help farmers save water, reduce pesticides, prevent soil degradation and reduce farming costs.

“The World Youth Forum is the best venue for young Egyptian entrepreneurs to showcase their products and ideas,” they told this paper.
