TOKYO – Egyptian Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhi hailed on Saturday the results of Egyptian female athletes in various international competitions.
He said that such results reflect the development of women sports in Egypt and the state’s keenness on promoting it.
He also thanked and hailed Head of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsi and all the NCW members over their follow-up and support to Egyptian female athletes in various sports.
Earlier, the NCW congratulated World No.1 Nour el Sherbini after winning the final game of the PSA World Squash Championship that was held in Chicago on July 14-23.
The 2020 Summer Olympics kicked off on Friday in Tokyo after a year delay.
Egypt has sent a team of 134 athletes from 23 sports federations to the Tokyo Olympics, its largest delegation ever to the Olympics.
