Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Nivine El Kabbag embarked Wednesday on a trip to Bahrain to receive Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Volunteer Work as one the Arab ‘Leaders of Volunteer Work’ in 2022.
Kabbag will represent Egypt at the award ceremony, to be held as part of Arab Volunteer Day celebrations.
The board of trustees of the Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Volunteer Work has nominated Kabbag for the award, in its 12 edition, in recognition of her active and prominent role in community service and humanitarian work during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as her efforts to instill the spirit of volunteerism in youth, according to a statement by her ministry.
The award was launched by the Good Word Society (GWS) in 2011 to honor leaders of volunteer work in the Arab world. It is organized in cooperation with the Arab Voluntary Union (AVU) and the Arab League in celebration of the Arab Volunteer Day, observed on September 15.
