CAIRO – Egyptian Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsi on Sunday presided over the first meeting of the Non-Governmental Organisations Support Fund after being reshuffled.
Morsi stressed that civil society has become a main partner to the government in implementing development strategies, saying the fund will play a crucial role in achieving a major boom in the non-government organisations’ mechanism.
The fund, as a legal personality, will provide a conducive atmosphere for non-governmental organizations to be able to effectively contribute to achieving national goals of development and social justice.
The fund seeks to empower the civil society to be an effective partner to the State in achieving goals of sustainable development.
