CAIRO – Slovenian Ambassador in Cairo Sašo Podlesnik has hailed Egypt’s important role in the region and its commitment to peace efforts and good office especially in the Gaza crisis.
In statements to MENA Monday, the Slovenian diplomat expressed hope that Egypt’s efforts, in co-operation with partners, would lead to a ceasefire in the Palestinian enclave to put an end to the killing of civilians, deliver more aid supplies to the Gazans and release detainees.
He pointed out that the political consultations between the two sides increased recently at the highest level following visits to Egypt by Slovenian minister of foreign affairs is Tanja Fajon in November and May pointing out that the viewpoints of the countries are identical on many international issues of mutual concern.
