Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli witnessed on Thursday the signing of six co-operation protocols and memoranda of understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and leading civil society organisations and NGOs to implement development initiatives at 23 youth centres across several governorates over two years.

The signing ceremony, held at the Cabinet headquarters in New Alamein, was also attended by Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Osama al-Azhari, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work Foundation Khaled Abdel Aziz, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr El Kheir Foundation Ali Gomaa.

The agreements were concluded with the National Alliance for Civil Development Work Foundation, Misr El Kheir Foundation, Makers of Good for Development Foundation, Our Country for Development and Social Services Foundation, Al-Siddiqiyya Foundation for Cultural and Social Services, and Dr Hassan Abbas Zaki Development Association.

The agreements, the Cabinet said in a statement, seek to integrate government and civil society efforts, strengthen youth centres and expand their developmental and community role.

During the signing ceremony, PM Madbouli stressed the government’s commitment, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to advancing youth and sports work through a scientific approach that promotes healthy development, public health and sport as a way of life.

Youth centres will provide opportunities spanning sport, community empowerment, health, economic, cultural, scientific, digital and political awareness, community service and human development.

Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil said the partnerships support the Egyptian Youth Strategy 2025–2030 and Egypt’s Vision 2030, while strengthening co-operation among government, civil society and the private sector.

Priority will be given to Upper Egypt and border governorates to promote geographical equity, local development and sustainable income opportunities for young people.

The initiatives will train 500,000 young people and beneficiaries annually in entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, digital transformation, and vocational and heritage crafts; establish community and craft workshops; and upgrade youth centres in Upper Egypt and border areas into integrated community service hubs.

They will also implement the Universal Accessibility Code for people with disabilities, ensuring inclusive services and activities and supporting community development and the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
