CAIRO – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt’s commitment to further consolidating and expanding its economic partnership with South Korea, building on achievements in existing areas of cooperation.

Speaking during a meeting Tuesday with Special Presidential Envoy of the Republic of Korea Park Byeong-seug, President Sisi stressed the importance of encouraging more Korean companies to explore promising investment opportunities in Egypt, taking advantage of the country’s stability, competitive advantages, and free trade agreements with Arab and African nations.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, and the South Korean Ambassador in Cairo.

President Sisi praised the significant progress in Egyptian-South Korean relations over recent years, describing South Korea as a key economic partner for Egypt.

He also commended Korea’s development experience, reflected in its modern achievements, and stressed the strategic importance of Korean investments in the Egyptian market.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy, the Korean envoy delivered a message from South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The message expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support toward peace on the Korean Peninsula and conveyed the hope of meeting President Sisi soon, along with greetings from President Lee.

President Sisi welcomed the envoy and requested that his congratulations be conveyed to President Lee on his election in June 2025.

He expressed his anticipation of hosting President Lee in Cairo soon to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance relations in various fields.

The spokesperson added that the meeting also addressed regional developments.

President Sisi reiterated Egypt’s firm stance on the war in Gaza, calling on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so, underlining its vital role in advancing the two-state solution as the only path to lasting peace and stability in the region.
