President Abdel Fattah El Sisi extended a warm greeting to French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Alexandria, sharing a message on his official social media accounts.
“My friend President Macron, welcome as a dear guest in Alexandria, the Bride of the Mediterranean,” Sisi wrote.
The post coincided with the inauguration of the new Senghor University campus in Borg El-Arab city, where the two leaders presided over the opening ceremony.
The event was attended by heads of delegations from participating countries, along with Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
Following the inauguration, Presidents Sisi and Macron toured Alexandria, underscoring the city’s cultural and historical significance.
The social media message highlighted the personal rapport between the two leaders and reflected Egypt’s emphasis on strengthening ties with France and the wider Francophone community.
