CAIRO – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Saturday that treacherous attacks would not undermine the determination of the State, people and Armed Forces to continue their war aiming to uproot terrorism.

Egypt’s loyal sons are still fulfilling their duty with full courage and sacrifice and with unique self-denial and unshakable faith in the homeland preservation doctrine, the President tweeted in his first official response to a terrorist attack that claimed the lives of a police officer and ten security personnel in addition to five other people in Sinai earlier today.

Sisi offered condolences to the families of the victims, and the Egyptian people for the martyrs, wishing those injured in the attack a speedy recovery.

Earlier, Military Spokesman Ghareeb Abdel Hafeez said a terror attack on a water lifting station in west of Sinai was foiled, resulting in the martyrdom of an officer and 10 soldiers. Five others were injured

The terrorist elements are being pursued as they were besieged in an isolated area in Sinai.

The Armed Forces stressed its continued effort to uproot terrorism.
